How do you convert my videos exactly?STEP 1: The cassette/DVD is inserted into a Camcorder/VHS/DVD player which is connected to a computer. Then the video is played on the computer and recorded. STEP 2: The digital file is split into smaller videos at our own discretion. This occurs by fastforwading the video until a change of scenary/date occurs and trimming at this point. STEP 3: The MP4 files are uploaded to a Google Photos/ dropbox account etc. owned by MemoriesForever and from here it is sent it to the customer's e-mail. STEP 4: According to customer preferences, the cassettes will be returned or discarded. Also according to customer preferences, MemoriesForever's copies of the videos will either be deleted or kept. (As a back up in case the customer requests to have them re-sent)

What do you save the converted videos to?At Memories Forever we recommend the use of Google photos or Dropbox to save and send you your converted videos. This is because cloud based services add security to make sure that your photos can't be lost or damaged as they are saved online. But don't worry, nobody can access these photos other than you. The use of cloud based services means that we can send you your videos immediately by e-mail, there is no chance for the videos to get lost in the post and keeps our service costs lower for you. (As we don't need to spend money on memory sticks or disks) You can edit videos, download them and share them by email with family and friends. There are many advantages to using cloud services. If you feel strongly that you'd rather have the videos by other means (ie by a memory stick) then please state so in the video conversion form. You will need to send us a memory stick yourselves, along with your casettes.
-
What will you do with my cassettes after you're done with them?According to the customer's preference, they will either be sent back by postage or discarded. (The cost of postage would be added onto the total cost)
-
Why do you charge that amount?Converting videos is time expensive, it takes double even triple the length of time to convert and split your videos than to watch them. Also, software and hardware are required to convert the videos which MemoriesForever has purchased. These are the main reasons why we charge what we do. If you are concerned about the price then we suggest sharing our post onto Facebook and giving us a review to reduce the cost by 10%. You also may want to consider sharing the cost amongst family members, as we accomodate shared payments.
-
What's the cancellation policy? We don't charge you until after we've converted your videos. You can cancel at any point before making the payment, but not after. This is because we obviously can't resell your videos, so the hours spent converting your videos would be profitless from our perspective.
-
What if you can't convert all the videos or some of the video quality is poor?If we can't convert all of your videos or only part of a video we will notify you before sending the bill, we will only charge you for the videos that we have successfully converted. If the video quality is poor (for example due to the degradation of the cassette over time) we will send you a small clip to show you the quality and ask if you still want to have the poor quality video(s) converted. Bear in mind that if you don't convert them the video quality will only get worse over time.
-
What if the video or sound quality is poor or missing for some videos? If you are dissatisfied with the quality of any of the videos please contact us and we will try to improve it/them. If this isn't possible due to the cassette/disk being damaged, then we will inform you as such. In this case, we will refund the minimum cassette price shown on the invoice above for this/these cassettes.
If you couldn't find the answers to your questions here then please send us a message.
